The 03rd Special General Assembly Meeting of the National Trade Protection Council and the appointment of District Leaders was held on September 09 at the YMBA Hall in Colombo. Mr. Mahendra Jayasekara, President of Colombo Youth Buddhist Association, Mrs. Punyamali Saparamadu, Senior Vice President of Commercial Affairs of Colombo Stock Exchange, Mr. Suresh Raghavan and Mr. Suresh Amarasekara, who is the advisor of the National Trade Protection Council, also attended the event as a guest.
Mr. Mahendra Perera Chairman of the National Trade Protection Council, pointed out the benefits given to local entrepreneurs and businessmen as an organization in the past 03 years and the program is expected to be launched to uplift entrepreneurs in the future. Along with that, the purpose of all the guests who participated in the event was to point out the contribution that entrepreneurs could make to GDP in the future as small and medium enterprises in the face of crises.
District leaders representing all the districts of Sri Lanka were appointed and, especially the participation of entrepreneurs from the districts of Jaffna, Trincomalee, Vavuniya, Kilinochchi who came representing the North-Eastern provinces is a remarkable feature. In addition, it is a special fact that the adivasi people who appear as stakeholders of the entrepreneurs also participate in this.
